it was a heavy book and yet funny and that is something that i usually like, but the detailed description of the gruesome violence, including r*pe was a lot and unnecessarily detailed. especially at the end, when we experience the violence twice both from the perpetuator's pov and then the survivor's  pov.

"Once she'd hit on this idea, there was no way to control her jealousy. She had always found the thought of anyone else's happiness almost unbearable, and she was easily convinced that she was getting a raw deal."
