Blood Orange by Karina Halle

Blood Orange is a steamy and dramatic story with gothic vibes. Valtu is a music professor in Italy, who also just so happens to be a vampire....and is specifically the vampire who "Dracula" is based on. Dahlia is a witch posing as Valtu's new organ student. Oh, and she's been tasked with the secret mission to kill him, because the vampires and witches hate each other. The premise seems a little out there, but hear me out...I was super invested.

Valtu and Dahlia's romance is filled with chemistry, passion, secrets, and mystery. There is an additional layer to their relationship that I won't spoil. This romance is incredibly steamy and the spice is well-written and abundant. I don't totally love all of Valtu's actions, but I did warm up to him over time. However, I am extremely angry at him for something I won't reveal.

If you like spicy paranormal romance, I think you will enjoy this! The professor/student relationship adds an element of taboo, but it doesn't feel like a big problem in the story. Dahlia has bigger problems going on...
