I honestly wanted to to skip this book and against my better judgement I decided to read it and not skip any book in this series.

Isabella worked at Valhalla which made dating her off limits because of the no fraternization rule. Kai also knew that she would be the death of him one way or another. That didn't stop him being drawn to her; she was beautiful, smart, funny and seeing her smile was like watching the sun rise. Being with her was the only time he felt alive and no other woman could compare.

Isabella felt like they were too different. Kai was successful, driven and achieved every goal he set his mind to, while she was unreliable and couldn't keep a job for more than a year. He always supported and encouraged her.

I liked the romance but I was also pretty meh about it. I was just waiting the other shoe to drop at any point. Kai was nice and all but I wasn't a big fan of them keeping their relationship a secret and him never really fighting for her despite knowing he wanted her.

Isabella has four successful brothers. She was closest to her second-oldest brother, Felix and I loved him the most from all her brothers. He was so supportive and didn't make her feel like she wasn't enough.

King of Pride might not have been for me but I think other people might love it.
