The Secret Life of Becky Miller by Sharon Hinck
3.0
Becky Miller is a daydreaming mom. She escapes from her overcommitted life by thinking up adventures where she is scaling skyscrapers or on secret spy missions. We follow her through a series of minor/major crisises: Her church women's ministry, which she is in charge of, is changed to be under the directorship of a paid staff member. Becky things that surely she will get the job, but she doesn't meet her church's educational requirements, so she is passed over. This makes her livid, especially since her husband has been laid off and they could really use the money. Even more so when their son needs surgery for an ear problem. Through all this turmoil, Becky learns about the importance of a supportive friend network, how to support her husband, how to be gracious with her church, and how to say NO.[return]Good for an amusing escape, fairly predictable.
