All This Twisted Glory by Tahereh Mafi
2.75
2.8 ⭐️
Spice: .5/5
Format: ebook
This breaks my heart. I am an avid Tahereh Mafi stan and no one compares with her when it comes to morally gray book boyfriends. Aaron Warner continues to be the #1 love of my life, and Cyrus is very high up on my list. And if we had more of Cyrus and Alizeh, the rating would’ve been a lot better.
To be completely frank, it was a 400+ page book that really only spanned 2.5 days. At least a third of that, if not more, was just summaries of the previous two books. There was almost no new information or advancement in the plot. There was barely any interaction between the two main characters. It was a lot of pretty words that really didn’t say anything.
I’m feeling kind of let down from the anticipation of this book. I wanted a Cyrus/Alizeh endgame and we barely even got Alizeh kinda sorta starting to feel things for Cyrus. The side characters, minus my baby Hazan, were pretty much completely useless and downright annoying.
I honestly feel as though I could’ve skipped this book, picked up the next one when it comes out and not missed a thing. Just, ugh. Unfortunate. I think my rating is also pretty generous seeing as I wanted to DNF at several points throughout the book but it hurts my heart to give one of my favorite authors anything lower.
