Can anyone get through this book without falling apart? Tembi's joy and pain really jumped off the page and into my heart. I can't imagine how hard it must have been for her to write.

Personally, I would have loved all the recipes at the back of the book to be incorporated throughout the text like Jeanette Winterson's Christmas Days, or Laura Esquivel's Like Water for Chocolate.
