Resurrection Reprise by Hailey Turner

5.0

I've been anxiously awaiting this book since it was announced in the author's newsletter. Sometimes when that happens, the hype exceeds the reality of the book. That was not the case. This story was everything I wanted and more.
Spencer was a fascinating character in the main Soulbound series and I desperately wanted more of him. His snark is a thing of beauty and plays off Fatima's own dry humor. The only way they could be improved would be to make them real and let them be my very best friends. I admire the way Spencer moves through his life. The unfairness of how the government views his magic has clearly taken its toll, but he's still vibrant and cares deeply for better where it could have made him cold and jaded.
Takoma was a delight to get to know as well. His loyalty to his people is paramount to his character and exceedingly admirable. That he's everything you could want a master vampire to be and deliciously seductive didn't hurt, either.
The plot kept me turning pages, as did the progression of the romance. I could honestly read an entire series about Spencer if given the opportunity and the way magic is described in this book? Perfection.
I won't spoil it, but there's an appearance of a character that made me cackle out loud and honestly, I'd read a series based on them as well.
