Rushed. I liked the idea and it was a good story until the middle of the book. Both characters fall in love all of a sudden, so I couldn't connect with either of them or care for what was happening. Had it been developed into two, maybe three, volumes, it would have been much better.

This was a fun read! Although I didn't grow up with the shows mentioned, I did watch Courage the Cowardly Dog and Beetlejuice, sometimes also watching Happy Tree Friends when my parents were not around. This book took me back to those times when I stayed up late just to catch another episode and see what else I could find, and hardly got nightmares because of them. Both the art and writing style made me feel like a baby-bat again.

The story took me by surprise because of the themes it touches on: from virginity to hookup culture, from social pressure and expectations to identity insecurities. It's not simply a comic story or a romance, but an exploration of the society we currently live in, which sometimes is not the best for some people. People like Jason, who are also looking beyond a physical connection or one-night stands.

Honest, direct, and lighthearted, it is a gorgeous, short book that makes you daydream about innocence, and the loss of it due to trauma.

Although I loved the illustrations and idea, the execution wasn't effective for me.

The synopsis masterfully summarizes what this book is about, but it doesn't mention how touching it is, how addictive and entertaining all the pages are, because it is impossible to put it down once you start. A solid script serves as an entry to a very well-constructed world, every detail carefully thought out, but without making it unnecessarily complicated.

It wasn't what I expected. A good idea that wasn't allowed to shine because it was too rushed and full of clichés.

Although it was a good, short reading, it wasn't as memorable as I expected it to be. Entertaining, at best.
