idk if it’s a relationship i would want to have but they seem happy and healthy good for them. personally i think henry is the best of the boys. could’ve easily been half as long tho
only not getting 5 stars because the first book is so incredibly stellar that it can’t compete. but this was still so so so good i rly hope lisa jewell breaks her no sequels rule again and writes a third book. and yeah, i AM still a henry apologist, but so is the author evidently. almost started crying at “Please tell him that he is and always has been the best of boys.”
very fun and very well-written! reminds me of the chat-fics i used to read as a teenager, but with a much more cerebral plot. the ending was a bit rushed; i think i would’ve liked to see a bit more struggle with the group trying to help gerald, and i don’t entirely understand lydia’s whole deal…that said, whatever she had going on, i LOVED. fantastic characters and great workplace relationships (platonic And romantic). AI fiction can be so difficult to write but Kasulke killed it. would definitely reread!
read this in one sitting this was INSANE i literally had my mouth open the entire time....as much as it pains me to say i think i AM a henry apologist but i think that just proves how insane and well-written this book is, that by the end of it you are completely empathetic and everything feels justified. i pride myself in being able to predict endings and twists but i did not see a single thing coming in this entire book, but it all still felt completely coherent and plausible. this was so good. this was insane. i need to lie down.
i'd be team rhys if he wasn't absolutely draped in red flags and i'd be team tamlin if he had a personality so that leaves lucien. why isn't lucien a love interest he's literally the only right option.
you get halfway through and you’re like ohmygod what more could possibly happen and then you just have to strap in while you get thrown into the wall over and over and over again and then when you think you’re safe you’re hit on the head with the most fucked up epilogue you’ve ever read in your life. 5 stars
