From the very first time I read Dune, I wanted to know more about life on Caladan—  before Arrakis, before the Corrino-Harkonnen treachery. There are only enough scenes on Caladan in Dune to set the stage; and while there's a ton of details surrounding Caladanian & Atreides life in the Dune: House prequels, the stories are all centered around Leto's childhood and early dukedom.
Now we are given a glimpse at Paul's earlier life on Caladan, and a peak into the years between Dune and Dune Messiah!

Paul of Dune explores connections between the childhood  traumas   horrors  events that shaped Paul Atreides, and the ruthlessness of Maud'dib & his Fedaykin.
