this was.....so sad. i actually wasnt expecting it to be very sad, because i didnt know too much about the book at all, but i was pleasantly surprised. i didnt find marianne or connell to be particularly likable, but i did appreciate how flawed and human they were, and i understand the narrative purpose behind that. i really enjoyed it. definitely not a favorite, but still very good. the prose is very simple and everything is pretty straight-forward, but i found the character journeys and exploration to be very real and gutting. highly recommend!

THIS WAS SO GOOD WHAT???? ive heard about this manga since it came out but omg this exceeded my expectations actually, im SO here for this. such a great mixture between creepy and cute. omg. im losing my mind actually im definitely continuing!

so i cried. this was beautiful. the prose and overall themes were just such a gut punch. i was not expecting this book to move me like it did, but wow.

this was soooo sweet!!! ): i loved this so much, very heartwarming. i grew up on the movie and it was one of my favorites, but the book did NOT disappoint!!! one of the best middle grades ive had the pleasure of reading.

yeah i have no idea how else to rate this because like. the writing was good and the ending kind of made sense, but there was so much back and forth and whiplash that it just kinda lost the plot. like i can see what the author was trying to do but it was a miss for me personally...way too messy and confusing. i will continue to read more from this author though since sundial and the last house on needless street were such great reads!
