This one was such a fun twist on the horror movie trope!! It’s YA and gave me immediate stranger things vibes (which I loved)! Wellington is able to create this situations that you leave you on the edge. It’s funny horror movies terrify me but books like this have me wanting more
I really really enjoyed this one. At its heart is a story of grief and mourning not just a loved one but mourning past lives, and past circumstances. I loved that this focused on a family in an interesting kind of turmoil that had me laughing and also shaking my head. Ezra is such a great characters and I loved his family and his friends.
The hype is indeed real with this book. I didn’t expect to love this as much as I did, and I didn’t expect it to hit me as deep as it did. It’s a dark comedy that focuses on grief and chaos and infertility and divorce and it is so brutally beautiful. I haven’t read a book that made me cackle one second and tear up the next like this one did. The characters feel like genuine people want to be friends with. And I can’t lie I was rooting for a certain pairing to happen. I really can’t recommend this one enough!!
I am a huge Karen M McManus fan and this one was just as captivating as her others! Multiple pov centered around a heist with a whole lot of family drama. This one is close to 400 pages but I sped through it. I will say this one felt darker and more violent than her others (big dv warning) but these characters are so compelling and you really want to root for them
Lovedddd this one! It was a quick mystery set around a missing school principal and some PTA moms! This one gave Finlay Donovan energy in the best way. I love when a book can be fun and have strong points and also be a little chaotic. If you’re in the mood for something different strongly recommend
I liked this one, but I’m just not sure her books are for me and that’s honestly okay. This one per usual is very science and very hot. Add in some family drama, some work drama and a little will they won’t they. I liked these characters but I just wasn’t finding myself hooked! Probably one of her more horny books tbh
This book was so beautiful, but also very devastating. It’s very heavy on grief and dealing with the aftermath of the death of a spouse. Do you really get inside the protagonist head and it’s not the happiest place to be. Looks like this feels so real and hit deeper than other ones
This book was everything to me. I had no idea what it was about and it is probably one of the most clever books I’ve read in a long time. Mind you it came out in 2017 so I’m a bit behind (thank you traveling book club)! Each character and their intersecting stories are not only devastating, but they’re oddly hilarious. It’s a book around family and mothers and society standards and trash men. A 1 day read that’ll stick with me for some time
I think this was a good book but the wrong time for me to read it!! It really hit on some dark feels of overthinking and never believing you’re quite good enough. And also years of not getting closure adding up to massive amounts of baggage and self loathing. These were all super relatable characters! I just personally had a hard time getting into this even though I’ve felt myself feeling many of the same feels as Charlotte
