This is the fourth installment in Samantha Young’s “The Highlands” series and this is my favorite so far. I devoured this book in one day, I could not put it down. If you love a small town feel, marriage of convenience, forced proximity, and a grouchy Scotsman this is the book for you. Allegra is a free spirited wild child that has grown up wealthy with famous parents. Jared is a single bachelor that inherited his grandfather’s farm after his passing, and now runs he the family farm. Both Jared and Allegra are in need of help to get them out of a sticky situation, and Allegra comes up with a crazy plan that can save them both. Jared and Allegra’s chemistry is addicting, and you can feel the attraction 🥵🥵. This book was a great mixture of angst, romance, suspense, and healing. This was a 5/5 star read for me and I can’t wait to continue on with this series. If you haven’t read this series I would recommend starting with book one Beyond the Thistles. Another amazing book by author Samantha Young, I have grown to love all of the characters in this series and I love that these books have a found family and we get to see all characters from every book.
