Catch Me If You Candy by Ellie Alexander
medium-paced
3.5
Catch Me If You Candy is a good read for Spooktober. It has atmosphere, Halloween festivities, small town vibes, murder and amateur sleuthing. Everything a cozy should have and more.
I loved the puppies included in this one but felt like there was too much going on at once. It was a mad dash from one plot to the next and at times felt tedious for me.
Overall though, this is a fun one and one I recommend. I love the characters and also love that you can read this without losing anything from not reading the prior 16 books (of which I have only read book 16 π). Grab this one if you're wanting an easy, fun Halloween read.
I sincerely appreciate the publisher and NetGalley for the review copy. All opinions expressed are my own.

I'm absolutely loving this series. I had such a fun time listening to this one. I laughed so much. Winnie's granny is the best. I also LOVE the narrator and finished this one in less than a full day. On to the next in the series ..

Absolutely adored this heartwarming story. The narrator was a pleasure to listen to and made me want to keep listening. The story itself was just what I needed this week.

In Her Pumpkin Patch by Alina Jacobs
Did not finish book. Stopped at 6%.

DNF at barely 6%. Cannot stand either Narrator's voice. I may have to grab the EBook instead because the story itself is interesting but the audiobook is not for me

Another fun horror novella. I really enjoy stories that have old buildings and small towns in the setting. Sisters of the Crimson Vine has an old time creepy feel that really made the story for me. Atmosphere is a huge part of horror, at least for me, and this definitely fit the bill.
For those who enjoy horror but want something that won't necessarily keep them up at night, this is perfect. Grab this one and add it those Spooktober lists.

This was a fun mix of horror stories. It made me think of nights around a campfire telling scary stories. Perfect for those who like spooky but not gory or too scary. This would be a fun one to read with middle grade to young teens during the Halloween season.
