Absolutely LOVE this one and being back on the darker side of things this time. New characters, new villains and all things awesome. This is the dark side of Crave and I am so here for it.

Midnight Showing by Megan Shepherd

Now that's what I'm talking about! I can't believe I waited so long to pick this one up. It brought back all the love for Malice House and then some.
Midnight Showing is dark, tense, and thrilling. I really enjoyed where the author went with this one, especially between Haven and Kylie. The monsters are terrifying and I love it. Perfect for Spooktober!
Go grab Malice House and Midnight Showing and add them both to your TBR! I sincerely appreciate the publisher and NetGalley for the review copy. All opinions expressed are my own.

The Oracus Test by Corrie Hathaway

This was a breath of fresh air. After I started, I had a hard time putting this down and finished quickly. I love the Sci-Fi/Dystopian genre and The Oracus Test fit the bill for me. It's fast-paced, entertaining and has a good storyline. Love the characters too. Eagerly awaiting the next book.

Echoes of Ballard House by E. Denise Billups, E. Denise Billups
4.0
Man...this series keeps getting better and better.
This time around Simone is house sitting in a home with a history. She starts off with the intent to write part of her ancestors' history...and ends up in the middle of a dark mystery that will either bring light to what happened in that home, or be the mystery that ends her days.
Echoes of Ballard House is the perfect read for Spooktober or for anyone who loves a compelling ghost story. My favorite thing about this series is that each one so far, is more than just ghosts and the paranormal. It's history, family and all the drama that goes with.
This is a must read. I sincerely appreciate the author and Coffee and Thorn Books Tours for the review copy. I cannot wait for the next installment.

I always enjoy a good horror story. Out There Screaming is perfect for reading in the dark early hours, sipping on a cup of coffee. The writing is good and the variety of stories is great. Perfect for any horror enthusiast.

While You Were Out: An Intimate Family Portrait of Mental Illness in an Era of Silence by Meg Kissinger
medium-paced
4.0
This was hard to read. I can't even imagine how much harder it was for this family to relive these moments as Meg researched and wrote this.
For anyone who has suffered with mental illness or know those who have, this would be worth reading. This family went through so much, before getting help was considered an option, but at the end of it all they had each...and hope.

Clytemnestra by Costanza Casati

Love, love, love Greek Mythology. Clytemnestra is an amazing, well-written account following a woman who, despite tragedy upon tragedy, stands strong and prevails.
This has everything I love with this type of book. Does Clytemnestra have everything she wants by the end? Not at all, but she does get what she desires most, and she always rewards those who are loyal to her...
Anyone who is a sucker for Greek Mythology should grab this and give it a read. I sincerely appreciate the publisher and NetGalley for the review copy. All opinions expressed are my own.

What Lies in the Woods by Kate Alice Marshall

I read this while traveling and finished it quickly. While I was able to figure out some of the twists, there was one that surprised me. Very good, fast-paced mystery. Goes to show that not all friendships are what they seem and those who protect us may not always do so with good intentions.
A Desperate Cat Lady by D. C. Gomez

I absolutely adore this series. I have been waiting and waiting for this installment and it did not disappoint. Another crazy adventure for Angela, the twins, Andres and the Silver Hair Gang. Grab this one if you love cozy mysteries with a twist. I am hoping there are more to come in the Cat Lady Series.
