I feel like Mesurault was just trying to live his life the way he thought it was to be lived. He was portrayed as not caring, or acting like life had no meaning and that he did not care, but I feel like he did care. A genuine ounce of him did, because through the last few months before his death, they kept pestering him about God, and how he should believe in God. He said he didn't and the world perceived that as heartless, and uncanny. I remember the priests would tell him that God would guide him and that he should ask for divine intervention, he did not. It was simply not because he didn't care about life itself, it was because he cherished the moments of his life. He did not want to waste the little moments of his life to pray to a God that may not answer. He wanted to salvage his time he had doing something meaningful to himself. That was why he would do anything for his friends. Thats why he shot the Arab. He wanted to do something meaningful in his life that mattered to him. There was no "impulsive" act when he shot the Arab. Thats why in court he seemed cold, and that he admitted it to it so easily. And his love for Marie. If he could genuinely express his love to her, it would be the cutest thing ever. Through his descent through the last few moments of his life, he saw Marie. He remembered those times with her, and that kept him sane. Mesuralt believed everyone was privileged and the same. Everyone was equal to him and I felt like he really cherished everything that was given because he said if he had another life he'd want to remember his past life all over again. This book was a 4/5. Everything was just so interesting and seeing a normal man slowly lose his mind, and regain everything is purely fascinating to me and I feel like he could be redeemed as a character.

Ronan gave me the ick. Like he practically raped her, if she didn't fall in love with him and had stockholm syndrome. Mila also gives me an ick because the whole time i was reading this book I was thinking about this girl from school and I hate her so much because shes just so. so. SO that. because shes friends with this one indian girl i hate. This book is not good. It disappointed me so much, but christian allister really got a character redemption for me in this book because i felt that he really changed with his kids. anyway yeah. thats it. the first book is the only good book in this series. i don't know if im ready for the 4th book because yeah.

Ick. Did not like. It was disgusting and I don't even know why I decided I was going to finish it. Probably because I was 78% of the way finished already but this literally had no plot. Like it was all smut and no bond. Also I hate how he was just so posessive of her, and how he hated their parents. ick. ew.

Was disappointed because the first book was amazing, but i felt like this book they had no interest in one another and they made up so quickly. There was no "relationship" with them. It was just all Christian being obsessed with her for years, and her not acknowledging him until they did it., and that the sex was just so amazing that they couldn't stay away from one another.

I literally finished this yesterday and I already almost forgot half the plot in the first book after I napped. But its ok. I think Hayden is realy silly for stalking her. Also i fele like this book really made me feel liek I was being gaslighted the entire time. I also feel like the girl Calista was designed to become a barista.

Idk its not memorable and I probably wont think about the characters or anything afterwards. But the only reason I read it was for "Marry me, and I'll stop the war."

Nathaniel literally disgusts me. Hes like a pedophile. Like why would you use the same poem for litearlly 3 girls. like first u say "omg we are soulmates" then it comes the club. Like he literally has an issue bc first its 18 then 14 then 16. like im sorry ur poem is so funny, it was embarassing i dont even know how he got girls with it. honestly im glad he died.

Ending was horrible, the characters actions were aggravating. Although I do feel the term or saying o'l chap was so annoying and I hated when JJ kept calling her girl, or little girl. it was so annoying. she has a name. its Lena
