Darling Venom by Parker S. Huntington

hmmm..... darling venom.... what to say. i went into this book blind and no other knowledge that it was amazing. and for the most part, i did really enjoy it.
while i did like and enjoy it, i found the ending to feel kinda rushed. maybe not rushed but i feel like it could have been better. the reveal at the end was interesting FOR SURE but i just don't know about it. it was missing something for me.
i did find this book to be amazing for the representation of mental health and the struggle of what people go thru when they are suicidal. i always struggled with my mental health and those kind of thoughts and ive always super enjoyed seeing that in books because it helps more people realize the struggle.
but overall, i enjoyed it but i don't think id ever reread it.

THIS BOOK IS NOT YA. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD THIS ISNT YA.
I saw like 5/6 different videos of people saying that this book had no spice (which it doesn't) but in my small brain, that meant it was ya. don't ask me why i thought that because i don't know lmao but THIS BOOK IS ABSOLUTELY NOT YA. ITS NA. ok now that i got that out of my system lets move on to what i actually thought of the book.
this book had so much TENSIONNNNNN, it was delicous. its like a bachelor meets fae meets hunger games of sorts. the entire book i was living for the tension between the fmc and the mmc. due to reasons, he can't fall in love and he needed a sure thing of not falling in love so he went with the chich who trash talked him to his face and went viral for it. the build up of the two, goddddd. also i am a huge fan of murder in books. so this has bonus points for all of the foul play. this book was great. i literally can't wait for book 2.

JENNIFER HARTMAN HAS DONE IT AGAIN. SHE CAN LITERALLY DO NO WRONG.
this book is a dark romance friends to lovers and as a self proclaimed hater of friends to lovers, this was amazing. hats off maam. well done.
there is so much i wanna say about how utterly amazing this book was to me but imma try to keep it short. i loved the fmc and the mmc with my entire heart. how clueless he was after what he endured was precious but ALSO HIM DIRECTLY TELLING HER HE THINKS OF HER WHEN HE DOES SPICY THINGS. SIR. im speechless.
i did find the fmc to be a tad annoying at times, like i get where shes coming from i do really but hot damn lady, get your shit together and pull your head out of your ass and see what in front of your face.
i listened to the audiobook of this and the audiobook was fantastic. 5 stars. no issues at all.
but overall, 5 stars. amazing. i loved it.

if you like a good possessive asshole, i think youd like this book. i really enjoyed this book for the most part. my only complaint is that on the audiobook, the narrator switches half way thru or something or they edit her voice different or whatever but there is a change in the narrating and it drove me crazy and i had the hardest time getting back into the book because of it.

I AM SHOCKEDDDDD. so normally, i can't switch formats. like I started the bonds that tie as audiobooks so normally i couldn't switch to ebooks or paperbacks. but i think i am going to push past that for this series because i absolutely have to know what happens. No spoilers but i refused to believe it. no thank you.
this book (and series tbh) just live rent free in my head all the time. i love that ollies bond is a murderous bitch who takes no shit while ollie is softer. all of her bonds tooo. geezzzzz. i know that nox is mean and hates ollie (for whatever reason i don't know but atm i don't care) but the fact that he literally can't stand her makes him so much hotter to me. #ilikethemtoxic
