Not quite a five 🌟 read but very very close. I loved this book. The back half was impossible for me to put down.

Did not finish book. Stopped at 42%.
I will finish this book, just not right now. It’s written so well but it’s so difficult to read. Not conceptually, but emotionally.

I’m only rating this a 3 because I did finish it. So I can’t say the story wasn’t compelling enough to make me not care to see how it ends. That being said, I was disappointed in the lack of world building. The concept for this world is interesting, but the story is hollow. The main character is supposed to be 50+ years old but she reads like she’s 16, which make the spicy scenes  uncomfortable. I would also really love it if she had made the best friend more than one dimensional in this story. I know she’s not the main focus, but her character felt frivolous. If there’s a second book, I hope the author fleshes out the world more. Give the book some texture.
