Since Ujurak transforms into a human to save his life, we get to see him interact with other humans a lot in this book. He already transformed into one in the first one but only for a very short time and not around other humans, so that one doesn't really count. The story shows us that not all humans are bad. This time we also get to understand how deep the transformation actually is since it is the cause of his injury but there are some minor plot holes nonetheless. Again there were parts which dragged and also repetitive ones to me.

The book switches between 2 plots, the one which happens 8000 years prior and the one which plays in the present days. I would have liked it more if the second one didn't exist at all, even though we get to travel to three different countries and get a lot of action in between, it felt flat and boring, just like the characters.

Some points didn't make much sense in this book, like
making Taqqiq tag along in the one prior and the making him leave in the middle of this one? I thought he was now an actual member of the group and thus would be able to change his jerk attitude. I am guessing that he will be back at some point. Secondly, the random old bear who helped them to find the Wilderness.
This book also had the same problems the ones prior had, at some point one has the feeling that nothing much happens......again. Just traveling and more traveling while talking. The ending had some tense moments to offer,
though it was clear that none of the main cast would actually die
Since Lusa is my fave, i liked that she had some extra time to shine!

Don't know which one i liked more, first book or the second one cause nothing much happens in both of them. There are some sad, tense moments again, which made the story more interesting for the time being. Toklo had some character developement which was nice and i guess i am getting used to Ujurak a bit, his character is quite cute though. I am hoping that in the next books there will be a nice conclusion to why Ujurak even exists in this series. I sure didn't expect
Taqqiq to have grown into a little jerk!

I remember reading this book once, a few years back and then i just stopped reading the other ones in the series. I guess it was cause
pretty much at the end of the book Ujurak appears, out of nowhere and has the ability to change species! I sure wasn't expecting that!
My fave out of the characters is Lusa, she is just too cute, though most of them are interesting, just Toklo can be annoying sometimes.

A very light read with importend life lessons! Suitable for young and old, told by animals point of view mostly. My version also had an interesting preface about the history of these fables!

The story itself is nice, simple and short. A good and quick way to teach children how greed affects humans. I wasn't expecting such pictures though...too creepy for my taste.
