This book is good and writing is also great. Writer did a research on writing this book based on Russian folklore and Slavic mythology. It focus on 'atmostphere' & character more than thrilling plot in my opinion.

Protagonist(Vasya) is not annoying at all. I often feel disconnect with other books's protagonist. But this book I found her personality is interesting. Romance is not happen much in first book. However, The book seems slow burn and too long(for me). I really enjoyed first half of the book and then i stuck in reading slump. Maybe it just because me,not the book's fault. But if you love the slow burn thing and love to experience winter atphosphere or you interest in religion,belief,family bond,spirit creature I think you might enjoyed it!
