This book deserves all the praise and hype it got. I laughed and I cried. Although it’s an emotionally charged story it never felt tedious and I finished it really quickly because I couldn’t put it down. I listened to the audiobook version and I loved hearing the author give her words the exact weight she wanted them to have.

I loved what this book had to say about motherhood and how twisted it can be! The mystery truly had me hooked from page 1.

This book was marketed as “A Seasonal Tale of Kindness and Goodwill” which is wholly inaccurate to what transpires in the book. Don’t read it if that’s what you’re looking for. But if you like stomach turning descriptions of Victorian London you’ll love it.

I felt like this book had so much potential and it just never got there. I basically had to force myself to finish it.
