The premise of this graphic novel was so promising.  A final girl from a Snow Day massacre has sold the rights to her story and multiple movies have been made.  It promised to explore how that would impact the trauma - but only brushes on it.  I am not entirely sure what happened and whether what was happening was in the movie, the past or the present.

However, the art is spectacular. The chase scenes were intense.  The color palate contributed to the sense of dread and doom.

I love how this graphic novel uses the illustration medium to tell the story.  In this story, there are three storylines - past, current Earth and current Space Station. The author uses colors to denote what timeline you are reading. Thus they tell a complicated story using few words and it is magnificent.

This graphic novel focuses on family, being separated from the ones you love, and grief. Again, the author brilliantly uses the medium to convey these deep emotions with minimal words.

This is a powerful gut punch of a graphic novel. I cannot recommend it enough!

I love that this book portrays how partners can support each other healing through trauma.

I also wish more romance books showed people with sexual dysfunction and how partners navigate that.  This book does it elegantly!

Two other things I loved - older main characters and the film industry.  I loved learning aspects of film making.

Some of the questions children ask about death are fascinating.  I would never have thought to think about what happens if you die in outer space or what if a graveyard fills up or can you keep grandpa’s skull.

I learned a ton on this book.  Despite being about death - it is surprisingly light hearted.

I understand the concept of gentrification at a high level but this book helped me understand the people impact.  How heartbreaking losing your neighborhood is.
