Fated Mates and How to Woo Them by A.J. Sherwood
This book was exactly what I had expected it to be, and I am so happy for it.
It's basically the chronologically first book in the trilogy of fantasy-romance vampire fiction. The MCs are lovable- the vampire, Ronan, was not unexpected in the least, the typical bad boy vampire, who accidentally realizes that Chase (the human) is a fated mate to the vampires. Ronan gets too intent on "getting" Chase, and after a very short chase, they get together.
But of course, it's not as easy as it seems, and there's the VSB who want to confiscate Chase and pair him with a better suited vampire, because apparently, there were only 118 of them in North America.
What I did not love about the book was how the chase was too short (lasting only two or three chapters, ig?) and also the fact that there was no actual conflict or moral dilemma or a little lover's spat. The closest to a villain is the VSB who want to be in control of all the fated mates in order to pair them with vampires from the upper tiers of society.
The writing was very modern and the chapters were in sync with one another. All in all, I liked that it was advertised as a fluffy vampire romance and it kept its promise.

“I had no idea your mouth could be so sweet,” I say.
“I had no idea you could stop talking for so long,” he replies.
It was such a lovely read! There were some hilarious moments between Ash and Dom, there was so much sweetness to counteract the angst that was so beautifully narrated. I loved the story, and being a short read, it really brought all the elements together without dragging it. Instant favorite.

I was in the mood for a short read to break the reading slump I have been in for over a month now, and I guess this one kinda helped? It had nice characters, the plot was not very complicated- just a chill evening read.
I was actually invested, and this will sound weird, in which state exactly Tim was from, to get his accent locked down, and well it did not disappoint.
