Have you always wanted to read Beowulf but were intimidated by the language?
Then this is THE book for you, seriously.
The translator puts a completely new spin on the story, translating it with modern language such as dude, fuck and bro.
It makes the text much more accessible and it was a real joy to read this book.

This has been my favourite Sherlock Holmes story so far, quite frankly because it most reminds me in tone of the series and I can absolutely see Benedict Cumberbatch in the pages of this book. Watson and Morstan are actually easier to like in this book than in the series.
The book drags a bit towards the end when the story is being recounted in full, but nevertheless, it is a very good book that I loved reading.

What a surprise this book was! I only stumbled across it on my quest to find short books to finish my 2021 reading challenge in time, and it was such a positive surprise! Hitomi is a fascinating character that goes through a lot in order to fight Blackflame and the whole setting is as fascinating as the characters are. I have never encountered Breathers, but I cannot wait to find out more! Definitely a series I intend to continue.

I was very positively surprised by this book! I absolutely loved it and will read more by this author.
If it wasn't for the Popsugar's 2021 reading challenge I wouldn't have discovered this book!!! I was looking for a quick book to finish my reading challenge in time and stumbled across this one. What a wonderful find! Lucas finds he has a knack for carving items the same as his grandpa. When he takes on a commission for a mysterious man, an ornate mask, he begins to change and not for the better. The mask changes his whole personality and endangers those he loves. Is all lost and Him Standing will walk the Earth again, or will he find a way out of the predicament he is in? Extremely well written, engaging and you absolutely cannot put it down until you have read the end. Highly recommend it!!
