Demons and fanservice. Enjoyable story and funny characters. I'm interested to see where this goes and had a fun time reading this volume.

I'm in love with this. Finally the wlw is here. The mysteries keep building up which I love. The characters are so horribly fun. It's a wild ride with each volume and I'm having a wonderful time following along.
Snotgirl, Vol. 1: Green Hair Don't Care by Bryan Lee O’Malley, Leslie Hung

So a ton of reviews don't care for this because the characters are unlikeable and I definitely understand that. I know unlikeable characters can make it difficult to like a story but I've also read a few stories with unlikeable characters that I've loved. It just has to be done well. With Snotgirl I felt like it was done well. Lottie is very unlikeable but it was still fun seeing the chaos in her life. I love how I have so many questions about what is going on. I love the normal moments and then just going to something completely unique and strange. The art is beautiful. Honestly beautiful probably isn't the right word but I love it. I went into this a little wary while I'm a huge Scott Pilgrim fan I know this has mixed reviews but thankfully I really enjoyed it and am excited to see where the next volume goes.
Heavy Vinyl: Riot on the Radio by Nina Vakueva, Carly Usdin

This was so much more than I was expecting and I adored every page. I had no idea about the fight club when I started reading this (I have no idea how it's in the description but yeah) but that was a lovely twist I really enjoyed. All of the characters are wonderful and though it's only one volume it shows growth and personality for each character. I do wish there was a bit more of the romance because it was absolutely adorable and I just wanted to see more of them being cute. It's gay and lovely and fun. I could easily see following this group as they fight different issues.
The Ring, Volume 1 by Hiroshi Takahashi

I've seen the US film multiple times and I do hope to read the original novel as well as watch the Japanese film at some point in the future. But I couldn't pass up a manga adaptation. I really enjoyed this. Even knowing the story I still kept wanting to read and see what happened next. I know some reviews mention having issues with the art style but it didn't bother me and I liked it. The overall vibe of this is still uncomfortable and unsettling as expected. I know more of the series has these manga adaptations so I hope to pick those up soon as well.

After getting this as a recommendation I finally picked it up and absolutely loved it. This is exactly my kind of story. I loved the sassy main characters. The story was fun and interesting and had some really heart wrenching moments. The end conversation with Cat and her mother was horrible to sit through. I really liked the side characters and friends. They were sweet or funny and just great addition to the story. Have to continue to see what happens next after that ending.

This was sweet. The art is lovely and the characters are lovely. I just didn't absolutely love it as much as I hoped. But it has a wonderful message of not needing to conform to gender norms and accepting those in your life that don't.
Clown in a Cornfield by Adam Cesare

This was exactly what I hoped for and more. I'm always worried with horror because I rarely enjoy horror books probably because of how many horror movies I've seen and watch all the time. This was the fun teen slasher I hoped other books would be. I liked the characters and had fun rooting for some and had fun with the deaths of others. Really enjoyed this and hope for more horror from this author.
Mieruko-Chan, Vol. 1 by Tomoki Izumi

I absolutely loved this. After a month of decent or horrible reads for October I needed a good fun and creepy read. This was exactly that for me. It's silly as t time and terrifying at others. The art for the ghosts are odd and uncomfortable which I loved. I really like the main character and her friend and even her brother though we don't see much of him in this volume. I was definitely not expecting the end though I should have. I went back and looked through the last couple pages just to make sure what I was reading was right. Excited to pick up the next volume and see where this goes.
The Final Girl Support Group by Grady Hendrix
3.5
I'm a little disappointed with this one. I just wanted more from it. But there was a lot to it that I really loved. I like following final girls and I loved some of the nods to classic horror movies. Hearing movies like "The Babysitter Murders" and "Stab" I definitely caught the references for those. The moral conversations Grady Hendrix always brings up was yet again wonderful. The end fight and twists were gruesome and fun to read. I honestly just hated how long it took to get to those points and how slow some moments were. The main character also was a bit unlikable but rode the line between a good unlikable character and an annoying unlikable character. Even with the issues I had a really fun time reading this one.
