Although the topic of this book is a very important one and was well displayed by many different characters who had to endure a lot, I really didn't like the writing style. Actually, not only that. The writing style in combination with the general structure of the story felt a bit like a mess. But just because I felt that way, doesn't mean that this is a bad book. And I really don't think it is, otherwise I wouldn't give it 3 stars. It certainly unique in it's own way, so feel free to check it out. But be aware: Very heavy topics are discussed in it (oftentimes graphically), which might cause some discomfort.

Did not finish book.
Ah, damn. I already get the feeling that I won't enjoy reading this duology. There's nothing seriously wrong with the writing style or something like that, just ... the apparent themes, age group, tone and so forth don't click with me. Why force yourself when you *know* that your gut feeling is in 95% of the cases right?
It's a pity due to the interesting concept (you start reading the book from one perspective and can always switch to the other perspective when you turn over the book and read from the former "back" of the book), but naaah, I'll pass.
