I’m not sure what to give as a starred review but I will tell you that the style of this book frequently aggravated me; the characters would find new information and go, hmm, that’s interesting, and the readers wouldn’t get to know the information for potentially dozens of pages. I know why it was done, but it still annoyed me. And there were so many threads that in the end I still had a few questions that were answered in the book but I no longer remembered after so much else had happened. But maybe that’s just me and my bad memory and slow reading.

I downloaded Overdrive just so I could read this ASAP after finishing the first book. I cried for most of it. It was so good. I read it all in one evening which is really rare for me. I hope there’s a third book, or a TV series, or something because I’m in love with these characters.

I laughed out loud, cried quite a bit, and read it as fast as I could. Can’t wait to get my hands on the sequel.

Really wish this talked more about gender and sexuality. It was very cishet for a book about Shakespeare with a queer side character.
