The smut that was concensual was extreme top tier. But that's the red flag, however how dark youw ant something to be r*pe should never be portrayed in books. It's sad because there was many ways to stay much logic with the characters, especially Zade. This was absolutely unecessay. It's sad tho because the side plot was cool as fuck ! Kinda disapointed but i swear best smut when concensual ig 💀 Will not read T2 for sure lol

Absolute masterpiece.

Any person commenting that she talks to much about Indian and Pakistani woman have read incorrectly, I swear. Raffia stays consistent on the pov of many poc woman to talk about what they *do* know and let the others that know more of their own culture raise their voice. Or she mentions them. Stop raising your voice if you haven’t lived it, seen it. Periodt.

I did like this book really dearly, it was a great read but I can’t say anything more of it. I know I’ll enjoy the rest of the series which I can’t wait to read but I feel quite neutral about this book. It’s a setup for the series but I feel that it could’ve been much more effective. Nonetheless, it’s the first book Maas published and it is great. It has what it needs to want the next book in the series. I do recommend! (Fully knowing the rest of the series is actually incredible and if y’all lied to me I am getting furious.)

Lord ave me why so much worldbuilding but the characters have absolute no personality except what is good for the plot and two or three puns 😭 This read was so terrible but at the same time I feel so angry because if the characters had some kind of profundity this would’ve been a master piece of it’s own times !! Out of this, didn’t ended because I got too far before loosing my mind but GOD THIS WAS A HARD TO FINISH READ

NB : if you wanna see a good worldbuilding and learn from it this is the book, but beside it… ugh

I will never be able to thank Devon Price enough for such a masterpiece. Sadly, diagnosing in my country as an adult Latinx woman from immigration is absolutely close to impossible, but this book gave me extremely good tools to learn again to function much more in touch with my real self. It’s a beautiful book for everyone to read; that everyone should read.

Technical errors of execution which I think prejudice this book rating. I personally think this book is so dear to me now. I just finished it but I may comeback later for some kind of analysis; I feel some people missed some big points of the characters ! I recommend it A LOT if you know how a book is written correctly (technique) so you can enjoy your read understanding through the flaws.

Did not finish book. Stopped at 13%.
Sans compter que ce soit un livre écrit par un homme, j’ai enfin réalisé dedans pourquoi je fuyais les policiers depuis petite : les personnages ont peu de créativité et le même « spectre » de personnalité… Non merci pour moi !

New favourite book. Every woman should read it. I cannot express how great it is in words. Everything is made with a genius writer mind. Straight up incredible. I loved it and gave my annotated copy to another woman in hope it passes on and on.
