Thank you to Aria and Aries for my Copy of The Bookshop Ladies by Faith Hogan
The opening of this book tugs at the heartstrings. Joy's world is shattered when she loses her beloved husband, Yves, and discovers his hidden secret about having a daughter. The thought of spending their retirement together is abruptly taken away when Yves tragically passes from a heart attack, leaving Joy utterly devastated.

In the midst of her grief, Joy summons the courage to personally deliver Yves' painting to his daughter, Robyn, in the quaint village of Ballycove, Ireland. The story unfolds in the captivating backdrop of the art world in Paris, where careers blossom, new life enters the world, and love takes shape. The narrative then transitions to the tranquil setting of an Irish village, where the intricacies of human relationships are explored during a summer of reflection.

The characters in this tale are deeply moving, each carrying their own burdens, fears, and vulnerabilities that enrich their interactions. The women in the story are portrayed as resilient and determined, pursuing the simple yet fulfilling joys of life - painting, managing a bookshop, and enjoying retirement above a bakery. This heartwarming narrative beautifully encapsulates the essence of friendship and love.

I'm thrilled to share how much I appreciate the opportunity to be part of the tour for "Dear Hades" by Alyssa Roat and Hope Bolinger, thanks to iRead Book Tours! This book is such a captivating blend of Greek heroes and creatures set in the modern world, providing a fresh perspective on teenage life. I absolutely loved how the characters were reimagined for a modern audience, allowing us to view the heroes from a different angle and evaluate their actions through today's standards. The way the "monsters" were depicted with empathy and unity was truly heartwarming.

While I had some reservations about the portrayal of Persephone and Hades, especially in relation to her mother, I found the resolution brought a lot of depth to the story, earning my solid recommendation. The romantic element intertwined with the characters' myths was beautifully done, offering a satisfying resolution to their challenges. I also found the use of a "tinder-like" app a clever and engaging device, and I'm hopeful that the physical edition of the book will reflect this in an appealing way.

In summary, "Dear Hades" is an immensely enjoyable contemporary romance, particularly for readers intrigued by Greek mythology. I'm grateful for the chance to delve into this wonderful world, and I'm enthusiastic about recommending it to others!

I am thrilled to extend my heartfelt thanks to TheWritesReads and Faber for graciously providing me with a copy of Songlight by Moira Buffini.

Songlight is a mesmerizing fantasy masterpiece that unveils a meticulously crafted universe through the eyes of multiple characters. This captivating tale centres on the empowering journey of defying societal norms and expectations, even in the face of potential adversity. Moira Buffini's masterful writing skillfully weaves a tapestry of vibrant storytelling, immersing readers into the intricacies of the character's lives as they navigate personal trials and tribulations. Despite overwhelming challenges, the characters exhibit unwavering resilience and unyielding determination, which makes the narrative truly enthralling and compelling.

The main character, Elsa, harbours a concealed power called Songlight, which she has safeguarded her entire life, confiding her secret only in Rye Tern, another individual with Songlight. Their love story unfolds against the backdrop of Elsa's impending arranged marriage and the forbidden nature of their relationship. When Rye is apprehended and taken captive, he valiantly sacrifices himself to shield Elsa, prompting her to confront the oppressive forces within her own community. It becomes evident that the real adversaries are not the outsiders branded as foes, but rather the cunning leaders who exploit and manipulate their followers under the guise of protection.

The novel delves into a world marked by oppression, particularly targeting individuals with Songlight and women. The treatment of women and the pressure to conform to societal ideals stirred a deep sense of indignation and compassion within me. The unquestioning obedience of some women to the deceptive leaders is profoundly disheartening and unsettling, painting a poignant picture of a manipulative society.

Back at the board game cafe surrounded by familiar faces, we're caught up in Kate's captivating story. From the first page of the book, I felt like I was reuniting with old friends - Kate, Jo, Em, and Taylor.

I am truly inspired by Kate's idea of the Advent trail in town. It reminds me of the lovely traditions in our hometown, but Kate's concept takes it to a whole new level. I can already picture myself leisurely strolling along the trail and exploring all the delightful shops.

The direction of the book was clear, but I found that it only added to its charm. And there's a new addition to our group - the intriguing Xander.

If you're looking for a heartwarming and delightful read, this book is an absolute must-read! It has all the elements to lift your spirits and leave you feeling warm and fuzzy inside.

I want to express my deepest gratitude to Entangled Publishing and NetGalley for providing me with an ARC of "Repeat After Me" by Jessica Warman.

Let me tell you, this book is truly something special. It's a captivating and unique story with a diverse cast of characters, each with their own compelling point of view. The setting of a remote island without any form of communication sets the stage for an exciting and unpredictable adventure.

Follow the journey of Emma, our sharp-witted protagonist, as she finds herself trapped in a time loop after a fateful encounter with a cursed ceviche during her senior trip. The concept is brimming with potential, and I was immediately drawn to the intriguing premise. While the execution may have left me with mixed feelings, I couldn't help but appreciate the creativity and ambition behind the narrative.

Although the book aims to infuse humour, I must admit that the reliance on crude and vulgar content at times took me by surprise. However, beneath the unconventional storytelling lies a thought-provoking exploration of teenage experiences, complete with its own peculiar blend of innocence and maturity.

While I may not be the exact target audience, I recognise the novel's ability to resonate deeply with the Euphoria generation. Its graphic nature may not be suited for everyone, but it undoubtedly captures the essence of a senior high school experience in a raw and unapologetic manner. It's a bold and unapologetic portrayal, and I believe that it will find a devoted following among those who connect with its candid and audacious style.

It's clear that this book is not meant to cater to every reader, but it possesses a distinctive charm that will undoubtedly leave a lasting impression on those who embrace its offbeat narrative. I encourage anyone intrigued by the premise to give it a chance and experience it for themselves. After all, not all books are meant to be universally loved, but the ones that find their audience are cherished fiercely.

Thanks to @EvelyneSPerring for having me on her arc team for Red Flag .

I just finished this amazing book about Olivia (Livie) who becomes a publicist for a notorious French motorcycle racer named Nixon (Nix) Armas after her father's passing. The dynamic between Livie and Nix is incredibly tense, but it eventually blossoms into a passionate romance that is so captivating. Despite Nix's bad boy image, he defies expectations in the most wonderful way. The book is an emotional rollercoaster, full of tension and a sizzling romance that develops in a forbidden workplace setting.

I was completely taken aback by the unexpected twists and turns that unveiled so much about Nix and Livie's troubled pasts. It's so heartwarming to see both characters confront and conquer constant challenges, and the way the book addressed mental health was truly commendable. If you're looking for an engaging and uplifting read, this book is definitely a must-read!

The anticipation for the next book is palpable after that intense cliffhanger ending. Can't wait to see where the story takes us next! #RedFlag #LivieandNix #Romance #MentalHealth #BookReview

Thank you @allisonandbusby and  @_leonieswann for having me on this tour.
What an exhilarating and delightful journey this book has been! It's been filled with so many hilarious moments that had me laughing out loud, particularly thanks to the wonderfully entertaining character, Edwina. She has truly become my absolute favourite in this book with her infectious humour. As we join Agnes and her housemates on a romance cruise adventure after Edwina's online win, we find ourselves captivated by their move to an eco-tourist hotel on the British coast due to a broken heater, setting the stage for a series of captivating mysteries. While Agnes may not be as sharp as before, her ability to piece together the puzzle remains impressive, adding a whole new layer of intrigue. The arrival of new characters, such as a fearful young man and a determined widow, adds even more excitement to the already delightful cast from Sunset Hall. Overall, this book is an absolute page-turner, full of enthralling moments that will keep you hooked from start to finish!
