Overall, I enjoyed most of my time reading this book; too often, though, I hated and was disgusted with it. So a turbulent reading experience.
Wow! What a freaking let down! It started out so good. All disparate elements were great. I wanted them to come together into a wonderful whole. Instead we got endless recaps of old material. I think the nature of the wolves was exposited like 10 times! The important parts happened off screen. Good characters either died (off screen!) or turned dull. It’s as if Reynolds felt wordy, kept writing until about 90%, hit a hard deadline and decided to relay the last 10% as exposition! Fuck this.
My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined!

It was OK. Pretty tense in the first half but a bit messy and dull by the end. Just OK
The best I can say about this book and the whole series is that I'm done with it. What a let down.
Unfinished. Some reviews said the first part was interesting. But it's not. I just didn't care to keep going.
weird. didn't like it too much at first. but then things started to come together, tie together a bit and I enjoyed the middle part quite a bit. the end was kind of meh but not too bad. overall, a mildly amusing read. maybe knowing the legends would've added a new dimension to these stories but alas...
Tsk, the way Reynolds ends his books frustrates me. This one is no exception. Still, I liked the book overall. For a while it promised to be a favourite but alas. The last few chapters let me down. Worse, I feel like my resentment will grow over time.
