I loved the story and how it all unfolded. I enjoyed the format and how it added to the mystery but it did make it hard to keep up with all the different characters. Some of the smaller characters weren’t able to be fleshed out so I found myself having to go back to remind myself of who they were. Amazing premise though and all the different styles of writing kept it so engaging.

It’s the kind of book where from an objective point of view, I can recognise its value and brilliance. From a subjective point of view - it’s not for me. I was enjoying it until the second half, at which point it became a bit of a chore to get through.

The pacing was weird, where some parts felt glossed over but some parts were given more focus than I felt they needed. It was okay but nothing that sets it apart from the rest of the Greek mythology retelling crowd. The best part was the final couple of chapters as I enjoyed the conversation between Medusa and Perseus - it was an interesting take on their confrontation and I like that Medusa was empowered in her death.

A fun and easy read. I found the format a bit repetitive towards the end but still couldn’t bring myself to put it down. Love the whole aesthetic of the era but also felt that the addiction and mental health problems were glamorised at times (especially in relation to Daisy). Similar to Evelyn Hugo - it didn’t take long for me to feel like all of these people and stories were completely real so I was completely immersed
