Entertaining and cool to see Jason gradually growing up throughout the series.

Some of the dialogue is a bit silly but considering my age and the targeted age range of the audience, not really a problem. There also is a sense of maturity in many instances for young teens, I think it's a pretty accurate presentation of them.

I really enjoyed the plot for this one.

I picked this book up on a whim when I was scrolling through the second-hand section. It was only €2.50 so I figured, even if it was a mediocre book or worse, at least I didn't spend much on it!

I love survival type books and throw in an otter and I was sold before even starting it.

Right from the beginning, the story gripped me. I truly felt like I was there too and I did not want to put the book down.

I'm not sure if I could keep going like Sam if I was put in such a tough situation with no one with me.

Definitely an entertaining and often emotional read.

Even after caching glimpses of some of the reviews, this didn't quite go how I expected it to.

A bit slow to start and the mother was unbearable but I do think that the way she was added some more depth to Jack.

Aside from the mother, the characters were all interesting. Overall, quite an entertaining story.

This felt nearly the same as the first book except instead of a flood, it was fire that was involved.

It was however, still entertaining and there was a good amount of action throughout.

There was a lot more depth to the story and the characters than I expected.

I had initially thought the story would be from Lockwoods POV but it was from Lucy's. She's a great character but I found myself really intrigued by Lockwood and his history. I am very curious to learn (hopefully) more about him.

I'm glad that I bought the whole series, looking forward to reading more of their adventures.

I really enjoyed this until towards the end.

I loved the banter between Cade and Corrigan and the humour throughout was exactly like my sense of humour. I also found the story interesting and the fact that these weren't your run of the mill heroes made for an amusing change.

My only issue is that as far as I know, this is a standalone book and for me, the ending read more as if it's meant to be something continued. I felt as if we weren't given everything out of the story, including more about Cade's magic.

Still, I did quite like the book and plan on checking out some of his other books.

I didn't enjoy this as much as I did Chris' other books.

It was a quick read and entertaining enough but I felt that Ben, as a character, didn't have much depth to him.

The plot in theory was good but how it was written felt a bit anticlimactic.

Overall, a good read though and I will read the rest of the series.

I noticed people had said the books are nothing like the movies and yet I was still surprised that they weren't.

Not a bad thing though, really enjoyed the book and plan to keep reading the series.

Reads like a copy and paste of Wikipedia pages. 2 stars because having it all in one book is cool, just a pity that the content isn't well put together
