I thought this was a simplistic overview of the History of Israel.  But, I did end up learning a lot from this book.  I was mostly surprised about the BDS part of the book.  This is a good place to start in learning about Israel, but please keep expanding your curiosity after this book.  You won't get a full perspective from just this read.

I think the writing was fantastic. The way the author told the story was beautifully twisted and dark. I didn’t really like the fact that the characters saw themselves as characters in a horror movie, because that trope is so overused. I enjoyed learning new Japanese words and folklore though!

Did not finish book. Stopped at 42%.
I did not like the style of writing for this book.  A lot of things were dull, uninteresting and readers are just as much confused of whats happening as the main character

I thought this book had great reflective things to say about racial identity in America.  The narrative captures your attention.  I didn't really like the art in the book though.  It was a bunch of pictures and cut outs.  I thought there could have been more effort in the "graphic" part of the novel.  Otherwise, great book.

Allie does a great job with pinpointing specifically about emotions that everyone feels but don't usually talk about.  She is a great humorist and her sophomore novel really exemplifies that.  I really loved her first book and didnt think this one was AS good, but it was still great!!   I love Allie's visual portrayal of herself with the constant confused look on her face and over the top expressions.
