⭐⭐⭐✨/🌶️🌶️🌶️

The duet narration really carried this audiobook, there's no way I would have read it. Lots of funny parts, but also many "ew wtf" moments.

The tension and banter is good, but this IS a slow burn.
A VERY slow burn.

I don't know why everyone is talking like it's so smutty 🤣. Any book where they don't even kiss for 75% of the book is *not* smutty. It just happens to have some spicy scenes near the end of the book. 🤷

I also loathe when authors use miscommunication 4/5 of the way through a book because there isn't enough plot to have a proper climax without it. I immediately eye rolled at that.

All these years and I still adore this book, and can't understand how people don't.. or think it's skippable! So much happens, we learn so much about everyone! Also, I think after the stress of the last two books we deserve a holiday with the inner circle.

Beautiful.

This is by far my favourite way to read this book now! So many beautiful moments were made better, and so many moments that didn't have an emotional impact for me when reading the book had me in tears! Just because of how the lines were delivered!

I have never before finished an Ali Hazelwood book, so it is truly shocking that I not only finished this. BUT, I finished it in one day AND I liked it a lot!

The writing is much stronger in this book, and her FMC was less whiny/catty than usual.. with a super strong female friendship at play.

The chemistry between the MMC and the FMC was *chefs kiss*.

I ADORED the first 200ish pages of this book, and then one of my least favourite tropes showed up.. and lingered. 😩 It took me days to even get through 90 pages after that, so I gave up and skimmed the rest of the book.

Tragic really, because I loved the first two books.

Did not finish book. Stopped at 14%.
unfortunately I couldn't get into it. Reading had become a chore.

There's something about books with massive paragraphs that just don't appeal to me. The formatting is annoying. 🤷
