Master Thieves: The Boston Gangsters Who Pulled Off the World’s Greatest Art Heist by Stephen Kurkjian
1.0
An interesting premise, but there isn't enough in it for a whole book. This should be a chapter in a book on art crime. It's very repetitive and goes way off topic, filling up the pages by giving the personal history of all the potential suspects. Like nearly a chapter is spent on a bank robbery in 1999 with a few guys that had maybe done it. Most of the book is spent going through a bunch of red herrings with forgettable suspects who you're supposed to remember when they're mentioned later. It's very difficult to keep track of things - I got lost in one chapter trying to remember which was the informant and which the reporter (a different report). The book is poorly structured, flicking from time frame to time frame. I find it incredible that this was written by a journalist.
