It's the beginning of the year and I already KNOW this is going to be in my top YA books list. Beautiful worldbuilding and characters, action packed and fast paced, it was a wild ride from start to finish. Absolutely stellar!

Reid really knows how to make a story, how to hook you in and keep you reading until you're completely caught. The family dynamics, especially the sibling aspect was impeccable and I cared about all the Rivas (except Mick cause screw him). I still can't believe this whole ass book covers one freaking night yet the pacing was perfect, no word or story was left feeling undeserving, and I loved every minute of it. I read this in segments, a little every day until I finished and I think that worked for me. I had something to look forward to every day. Overall, Reid was in full glory here and I'm so glad I got to read this. Definitely recommend!

dark mysterious tense fast-paced
Interesting concept! There were times when I was reading it that I genuinely felt tense and crawling under my skin. As is the nature of short stories, it kept me guessing how it will turn out in the end and I liked the mystery of it. Solidly had a good time reading this!
