This is book 3 of the Bree Taggert series.
Taggert is a homicide detective, in this book she is working on the case Holly Thorpe whom was found dead under a bridge and after the autopsy it is clear that she was murdered and dropped into the river to make it look like a suicide.
The case becomes very interesting and makes you question every single person related to the victim, and of course Melinda has an amazing way to surprise you and give you the best turn around and action by the end of her books.
Love the book, the story and the intensity of every character. Looking forward to reading more of Melinda’s books.

Oh my God, that plot twist! I was completely taken by surprise. I wasn't expecting that at all.
I love Brody so much. He's the best dog ever. I even cried a bit at the river scene.
The whole ending of the book was so emotional. Uf. I loved this.

Sheriff Bree Taggert finds herself again involved in a major case that hits close to home and will prove a lot more complicated than she ever could have imagined. Her budding romance and family time are hard to juggle with the demands of her job and she will have to learn how to multi task. Exciting, tragic, thrilling and action pact and I loved every minute of this compelling read! Love the characters and dynamics and her back story as so sad. Five star read for me!

I absolutely love this suspenseful series. Bree Taggert is my favorite kind of character. She is hardworking, strong-willed and intuitive, which make her a great sheriff. In this latest installment Bree is investigating a body found in the water. From the beginning things don't quite add up and Bree knows better than to assume anything. As the investigation unfolds the suspects are numerous. As readers have come to expect from Melinda Leigh, the unpredictable twists and turns in the storyline make it impossible to put this story down!
