My 10 year old science wiz who's hero is Stephen hawking loved this but so did my 7 yo who isn't to big on science and claims to not like space just because his brother is obsessed with it. It was a hit here.
What a fun book! Despite being for kids, I enjoyed this romp around the solar system, reminding me of the scale of things and how they work. I even learned something I never knew about black holes!

Co-written with her father, the last famous physicist Stephen Hawking, Lucy Hawking takes us on a interstellar ride through our universe. George, the son of environmental activists, goes on a incredible trip through the galaxy with his neighbor scientist & daughter with the help of their super smart computer, Cosmos. Meanwhile, his snide science teacher will attempt to steal Cosmos for his own scientific needs.
“George” is a fun adventure ride through the world of astronomy and is also pretty educational at times. Aside from his story, it also includes astronomy photos of plants and black holes and info for those curious to learn more about our world. Wonder where in the world will George and his new friends will go on their next adventure. A- (91%/Excellent)

If I didn't give it a star, I figure people would think I just didn't want to rate it.
I have no idea how someone can make science so indescribably boring. There is no tension, no excitement, no personality...
I could have stopped reading, yes, but I honestly thought it would get better. I'm not going to use the spoiler tag, but I'll tell you anyway that it doesn't.

This is an excellent children's book. If your kid is interested in the solar system then this should fascinate them.

Great book! I read this when our eldest son was 8yo and he still remembers much of the science he learned from it. I just finished reading this book to our 5yo and he was forever begging for the next chapter and telling all his friends about the story!! Very engaging and wonderful ideas generator.
