The writing was bad but the plot was so intriguing, full of twists and turns, that I couldn't put it down.
I really enjoyed this! I’ve been in a bit of a reading slump due to all the news going on in the world and needed something fast paced and quick to read. I did guess the ending but that always makes me feel satisfied - well I didn’t guess the motive for the plot entirely but I knew who was involved without question.
I decided to read this book because it was the first suspense audiobook that was available from the library. I had never heard tell of it but the title and cover both appealed to me. I'm so glad that I gave it a chance! I listened to 96% of the book just today.
Morgan was on the subway platform on her way home from work when a woman begs her to take care of her baby and then jumps in front of the train. Nicole is a new mother and CEO of a successful business but is suffering, mentally. The story is told by Nicole and Morgan. Nicole tells us about everything that she went through in the last couple months of her life and Morgan details everything that happens after Nicole's death.

Super easy to read, read it in one sitting, but so predictable. Will probably try this author again since this was her debut. I did like the merging dual timelines, always keeps me reading. This felt like the most basic thriller ever though.

This was a fairly solid debut novel. I appreciated that it was short, but I feel like the characters could have been developed a bit more. Instead, there was kind of a lot of repetition, like the reader was going to forget the whole story about Morgan's husband. There wasn't a lot of room for the reader to like connect things themselves because the writing spelled it all out. Also, I'm not sure if the author has lived in Chicago or has not and really was worried that we Americans would not believe that the story was set in Chicago, but there were such specific Chicago road directions. I don't think I've ever read a book that could double as MapQuest directions. It was a little distracting haha. Also, I thought the end was a little predictable. There weren't that many people who could have been the terrorizer(s).

O scurta enumerare a aspectelor care nu mi-au placut: politista partinitoare, prietena care nu isi incurajeaza prietena depresiva sa mearga la medic, triunghiul amoros care pune in pericol viata bebelusului, faptul ca o proaspata mamica ajunge sa aibe mai multa incredere intr-un necunoscut de pe internet decat in propria familie, titlul ales de editura pentru varianta in romana (sa fim seriosi,titlul ales incearca pur si simplu sa copieze/completeze cartea Fata din tren), coperta aleasa nu are absolut nimic de-a face cu subiectul cartii.
Ca parti pozitive: se citeste usor, m-a prins si m-a tinut captiva deoarece evenimentele se succed repede, adrenalina e prezenta de la inceput pana la final, prezentarea in paralel a celor 2 fire epice pana acestea se intretaie, jocurile psihologice terifiante.
