Pretty good. I liked Bobby, and gymnastics. Her friends were cool, with understandable reactions. All in all, a good/stellar read. Around 300 pages. Short enough that while I was at the bookstore waiting for others to finish shopping, I finished it. Don't worry, I still bought a book called 'Theiving Weasels' and another book called 'P.S. I Like You' which looks really cute. I'm getting Heist Society vibes from Theiving Weasels.

It read faster than expected

Wasn't the worst, it just got kind of annoying at the end because high school is literally not that big of a deal

Very insta-lovey

It made me feel "old" since a lot of athletes "expire" at a young age

Not going to lie, a part of me is salty my gangly self wasn't very athletically inclined
funny lighthearted relaxing fast-paced
Plot or Character Driven: Plot

This was exactly what I wanted it to be. Some plot points were just a little.... hard to believe, honestly (no one *ever* recognized her? or figured it all out? and of *course* she got injured at a pivotal moment), but I just went with it and enjoyed the ride. Really, I just wanted the behind-the-scenes what-is-it-like-to-be-an-aspiring-Olympian story, and it totally delivered on that front.

Cute little romance book. Probably better served for the high school age

1.5/2, está ahí ahí la cosa. No tiene ni pies ni cabeza, para qué engañarnos, lo que es gimnasia... Poco y mal. Lo mejor, la lectura conjunta.

This book started out a bit slow for me, but after the first three or four chapters, I really got into the story. I loved how Shawn Johnson focused on balancing Charlie’s life in gymnastics and at school because I feel like it added an authentic perspective to how young athletes attempt to balance their lives and what can happen. My favorite aspect of this story was the romance between Charlie and Bobby because it was super sweet and endearing, but also complicated and messy at the same time. You could definitely see Charlie’s athlete in her when she wanted to fight and work so hard to keep a relationship with Bobby amidst the Olympic Trials and her busy training schedule.

Favorite Quote: “We have the power to make our wish come true.”

3,5 stars.
Het deed me erg veel denken aan Hannah Montana met happy ending en alles, maar als turnfan toch heel erg leuk om te lezen! :-)

I kind of didn't finish this book. After about 150 pages, I got bored with the repetition and the utterly predictable story line and skipped to the end. I'd like to read a book that accurately depicts the world of an elite gymnast by someone who writes well.
