I was expecting a Valentiney story when I picked this up to share with a school and was surprised to find such a sassy, funny, monster love story. It's a book that's on the edge with the sentence structure and subtle older theme of love finds you when you least expect it. It could be paired well with Zombie in Love by Kelly DiPucchio.

Reviewed from a library copy.

I enjoyed reading this with my daughter. I think the tale resonates with us parents more so than our children because we can know what to expect from the world around us. This book brings children into the insight of hurt and healing with love and the illustrations are perfect for little eyes.

On the low end of 3 stars.
