This book was just okay for me. I felt that absolutely everything that happened in this story was so dramatic. Every situation. Every conversation. It was all. So. Dramatic. The story was entertaining but very predictable. I felt like Melissa and Dean didn't react to certain situations like a normal person would. Their reactions were just odd to me. The epilogue wasn't that great and it ended so weird. Maybe it was the wording? I'm not sure. I'm glad to be done with this though.

The Game Changer is the second book in J. Sterling's The Perfect Game series and is the continuing story of Jack and Cassie. I would not recommend reading this book until after you have read The Perfect Game as this is not a standalone. Trust me you want to start at the beginning to see every bit of their story unfold! I have been ready for more Jack and Cassie since the moment I finished the first book, and I can honestly say that this book was everything I had been waiting for and more. I absolutely love these two, and J. Sterling continues to give the reader these flawed but beautiful characters that are so real and believable.

After everything that Jack and Cassie have been through, they have finally found their way back to one another. When Jack appeared at Cassie's door, things were just beginning for them and they have new and different struggles to deal with. While their relationship is headed in the right direction, Cassie and Jack must now deal with things that they never had to before. As Cassie adjusts to life as the girlfriend of a major league baseball player, they must also deal with how to balance their careers and personal life. While Jack and Cassie want nothing more than to be together, they soon realize that there are many others who want nothing more than to split them up.

I love Jack F'n Carter so much! He is cocky and he messes up, but yet you can't help but love him anyways. His love for Cassie is so strong and is completely one of a kind. He would do anything for her and it shows. I loved getting into his head with this one, and seeing all that we had missed out on before. It was really interesting to see what he was going through and how dedicated he was to getting his girl back. Cassie is one of those characters that you don't always understand, but that you root for anyways. I think that it is easy to judge her and say that she should do this or that, but the thing about her is that she always makes the best decision for her. While many people think that she made the wrong choice to forgive Jack and let him back in so easily, I see that she really had no other choice. She loved Jack so much, and she knew that without him her life would be broken. Jack and Cassie not only needed each other, but they were better people together. I think that they made sense together in a way that they don't on their own. These two show how real and messy relationships can get, but they also show that true love will always prevail.

Overall, I loved this book. I will never get enough of these two, and I really think that I would read anything about them that I could get my hands on. I also really love Dean and Melissa. They are such strong secondary characters, and I really feel that they are part of what makes this series so great! I love Dean and Cassie's friendship, and I am so glad that they have formed such a strong bond as well. I know that a lot of people will struggle with the events of the first book and the aftermath which is dealt with in this story. But honestly, these books are so worth the read and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a story that shows real love and how couples overcome difficult obstacles in their relationships. I think at the heart of these stories they are all about love, forgiveness, and hope for a future that most people would never truly understand unless they lived it. If you haven't read anything by J. Sterling yet, I highly recommend starting with The Perfect Game, and I think you will love Jack and Cassie just as much as I do.

I have some mad love for J. Sterling. Not only as an author but as a genuinely nice person that cares about and talks with her fans. That being said, I find myself extremely lucky to have had the chance to read "The Game Changer" prior to its release.

This book for me was a solid 4 stars throughout most of it. I have this little requirement for a book to earn that 5th star...it has to evoke some sort of emotion in me, whether it be that it makes me cry, gives me goose bumps, turns me on, etc. The emotion has to reach out from the book and grab at my heart strings. Miss Sterling squeaked that out at the end for me and earned that 5th star.

First off, if you haven't read "The Perfect Game" by J. Sterling, you need to go read that first. After reading it, if you felt pissed off at either Jack or Cassie so much that you wanted to throw your Kindle/Nook/paperback against the wall, then you need to read this book. Heck, you just need to read this even if you didn't get pissed off.

The book starts off as flashbacks to different events that occurred in "The Perfect Game" giving you a look at what was going through Jack's mind as the story played out. Believe me, if you didn't love him before, your heart will reach out to him now. And don't worry; the story is not just a rewrite of "The Perfect Game" from Jack's perspective. Now that the drama from the past is behind them, they must learn (sometimes the hard way) how to handle life together with one of them being in the public eye and see if they have enough trust in each other to make it through as a couple.

Aside from Jack and Cassie, many of the same characters from the first book make a second appearance in "The Game Changer" - Melissa and Dean in particular are a favorite of mine - with the addition of some other important (and HOT) characters. Miss Sterling has a way with creating characters that you either love to hate, hate to love, or simply can't help falling for.

"The Game Changer" was a perfect continuation of the story started in "The Perfect Game." I was entertained, shocked, happy, sad, and utterly satisfied by the time I reached the end of the story. I would recommend this book to everyone that read "The Perfect Game" whether you loved it or hated it.

I was so happy when I found out about this book, I know it wasn't originally suppose to be but Sterling did an amazing job with it and gave the people like me more JACK CARTER!
Don't worry this book has no where near as much drama as the first one its more of them learning to live with their new lives together as appose to fighting about things like in the last. I was very happy with this book and so happy with the characters. I would have liked a little more Dean and Melissa but with them half way across the country you can't expect to much.

The game changer starts where the Perfect Game left off and Jack Showed up on Cassie's door after getting himself traded to the Mets to be near her. I was so glad how in the first book we got to see what Jack went through in those 6 months without Cassie while he was trying to get back to her.

Because there's nothing to discuss. I'm not leaving you ever again. And you're not leaving me. No matter how pissed off I make you, or how frustrated. I fucking love you and I'm not going anywhere."

Jack wants nothing more than to make Cassie happy and prove to her he will never ever hurt her again.

Jack Carter does not exist as a full person without Cassie Andrews."

As Jack's status on the team rises the crazy fans and the media begin to fallow Cassie and she starts to crumble under the spotlight. Kitten doesn't want to worry Jack during the season so she bottles it up until it becomes to much.

"Don't worry about you? That's like asking the Chrysler Building to not be tall" -Jack

5 STARS!!

"You told me once that I was your game changer, but the thing is, you're mine too. It took me a while to realize that, but I finally did. You're my game changer. Because nothing else matters if you're not with me."

This was my favourite so far in the series. I think the writing was better and the storyline was more in-depth and emotional, completely grabbing you by the feels. I cannot wait for the rest of the books because I finished this one in a matter of hours.

I love love stories

I enjoyed this book as much as the first one. I get really sad when I read a book and there is not another book to continue reading their love story. So I really
enjoyed getting to read further into Cassie and Jack's story. And that there was a happy ending

So there was this one time that my sister in law suggested I read this book called The Perfect Game so I go on a hunt to find it on Amazon, read the synopsis, and think ehhh its about baseball, I don't feel like reading it right now so I will buy it and put it somewhere in my TBR pile...
Three weeks later I finally get to this book and kick my own ass for not finding Jack F'ing Carter three weeks sooner because holy shit I fell in love and I fell so effing hard....

Then we all gathered together and DEMANDED (pitch forks and all) for another Jack Carter book and because J. Sterling loves us so much she gave us The Game Changer..

I'm no dummy, I learn from my mistakes, and didn't hesitate to devour this book as soon as it came on my kindle...
NOW this leads me to the here and now and my reviews for

The Perfect Game & The Game Changer
If you haven't read the second book it's ok I won't give away any SPOILERS, I am all about the spoil free reviews..

If you want the first half of this review go to: thebooktrollop.blogspot.com

Ok so if you haven't read The Perfect Game. DO NOT READ THIS.. Do not pass GO, DO NOT collect your $200 dollhairs..
No really, I don't want to ruin the first book for you if you haven't read it..

So anyways, in this book we get to see what happened in the 6months that Jack and Cassie were not together after Jack came back for Cassie, before she went to NY.
We get to see what Jack had to go through while they were apart and all the bullshit he had to overcome so he could come back to Cassie without the added strain of that bitch-whore Chrystle.
Oh and if you are wondering if Cassie finally gets to set that bitch straight, you will be excited to know that not only does Cassie get a piece of her but so does Melissa and lets just say it was effing EPIC..

Jack effing Carter is now playing on the Mets, he finally has his kitten back and they live happily ever after..
HA YEAH RIGHT,
it wouldn't be a good book without some drama and Ms. Sterling packed on the drama this time.

But I was so damn frustrated with this book and Cassie I wanted to scream and yell but this time it wasn't at Jack, it was at Cassie.

After all the drama Jack and Cassie went through in the first book, I knew Cassie was going to have trust issues but this went further than that with her. She closed herself off from really letting Jack in, her tough/stubborn ass was putting walls upon walls up from the one person she was suppose to let in and never let go..
She said she didn't want to bother Jack with all the issues she was having but in truth she was just keeping him out.
Jack did everything to keep himself on the straight and narrow and Cassie was doing everything to be..well.. Stubborn.

Oh and the subliminal messages that Ms. Sterling put in the book, in her not so subtle way..
Point Taken..
Women are bitches and catty..
Wellllll, we are and we need to do better, we have to love and support, not degrade one another and snub our noses at others who are not like us..
Its dumb, stupid, catty, bitchy.. you guys get the picture yet??
Get it together ladies, there is a way to be classy and supportive to one another without talking shit about people behind their backs.
But she wasn't done yet.. oh no, no, no.. the other P word that gives people the heebie jeebies...
PA-PA-RAZZI
(sorry, my inner lady ga-ga just came out)

God those vultures are horrible, I hate them, and the only celeb news I want I get from Perez Hilton because les-bi-onest he is one fabulous, controversial, gossiper.
I want to be his BFF and he doesn't know it but he wants to be mine too..

CALL ME PEREZ ;)

Anyways, I would never want to become a celebrity and have every single one of my motives questioned. Every male friend I hugged I would be linked too one way or another..

"GASSPPP she is dating HIIMM??"
Ugh PUKE.. HATE IT!!

And that is what Cassie had to go through, living in a bubble for so long she never had to experience that (except at college but that was preschool shit compared to what she has to go through now) but now that she is Jack Effing Carter's girl she is being scrutinized every step of the way..
It's ridiculous and yeah I feel bad she was dealing with that but at the same time she still frustrated me to no end.
She kept it all bottled up and never told anyone and then when shit got to hard she fled...
So then now what?? Jack gets left high and dry after everything he did for her to come back to her???
UGGGHHh see.. Frustrating.. I won't go into more, I will let you see what exactly happens and when you do, come back and lets compare notes..

The secondary characters are the same as the first book and we get two added bonuses of Matteo and Trina.
Melissa and Dean are again in this one and they are still flirting with the thin line between being together and being friends. I want to lock them in a closet together and not let them out until they have bumped uglies and are officially together.
Matteo is HOT and swoon-worthy but also adds his own drama to the story that surprisingly leaves you smiling even after everything happens.
Trina is like a lil heavenly angel who comes into Cassie's life when she needed it the most and I really wish she was in the book more.
Gran and Gramps was also still in there and as sweet as ever..

"“It’s funny the things you think will last forever when you’re young. I figured I’d work until I died. But even work stops at some point. And you find yourself looking around, taking stock of your life, and you realize that you don’t give a shit about where you worked, or what you did to bring in money, but you care about the lives you touched. The love you shared. The family you created. You care about who is standing beside you when the shit hits the fan.”

Le Sigh.. So sweet
I mean really, they give the best advice and makes me want to call my grandmother just to hear her tell me she loves me but thinks I need Jesus (no really my grandparents are the sweetest and craziest people I have ever had the privilege to be related too..) BUT they are mine and I cherish them..

The ending was complete for me but I wouldn't mind another Jack and Cassie book because I am a selfish book trollop and I always want more of my favorite characters..always!!
Hell, I just want more from this author and I want it NOW..

I don't know why I see so many low star ratings for these two books because they are hilarious, swoon-worthy, and even if they piss you off and frustrate you to no end, at least these books are making you FEEL and that is what a great author does. They make you FEEL.
You are PISSED??.... Good they wanted you to be PISSED
You are SAD??... Good they purposely wrote their heart in that book to make you cry..
You are FRUSTRATED with the character... AWESOME, because they were too and wanted you to be just as frustrated with them as they were..

My point being:
When a book doesn't make you feel, then you are in trouble.. unless you are feeling bored then thats not an emotion you should be feeling...
So STOP rating books LOW because you are frustrated with the characters!!
GAAAHHH
ok end rant..

I am going to give this series a 4.5/5 for right now but my rating can be changed when that third book is OUT..

Thats right ladies and gentlemen there is another one coming out and I heard it from Ms. Sterling HERSELF so I promise it is not gossip ;).
