Nancy's second book..another satire of her peers. Not a whole lot of plot but quite funny.

51/2022 Seguimos con el plan de leer a las Mitford en 2022 y llegamos a esta novela coral, ambientada en una casa en el campo, alrededor de la cual se juntan más de una docena de personajes, cada uno con sus particularidades y deseos: la señora interesada en la caza, la debutante que odia la temporada, los parientes pobres, la prima enamoradiza, el sinvergüenza arribista…

Hay de todo y está todo bien y además dice una expresión que voy a hacer mía al referirse a un señor que pretende con mucha pasión a una señora “me aburre hasta el coma”

Aquí Nancy Mitford se ríe de todos y es fabulosa. Me lo he pasado fenomenal.

Christmas Pudding is a brief and entertaining romp that makes for a fine light read but offers no particular depths. Mitford serves up some very entertaining character portraits - Lady Bobbin, Bobby and Squibby Almanack to name a few - but the plot, unlike the titular dessert, is light and fluffy. I would recommend this as an entertaining and mildly festive novel to those at a loose end in December, but beyond that I don't think I would be adding it to the top of your 'to read' pile.
