Reread, All-Time Favorite

I enjoyed this one a lot, definitely a little more than the first one in this series. I appreciate getting to spend a little more time with Lionpaw and getting to know him better. I feel like the cross-clan romances/friendships always make me feel a bit sad though. 

The introduction of the tunnel system and Rock and Falling Leaves was intriguing. I don't remember much about the trajectory of the rest of this arc, so the next several books will probably feel almost new!

Maybe I wasn’t paying attention as well as I should have been, but it didn’t capture my attention as well as others did. I will keep reading the series though. These darn cats!

After a weaker start than what I was expecting for this series, the second book really takes off and was very satisfying and more in line with what I was expecting from these. The trio has become less sulky this time around, as the real dangers are being ramped up. There's a threat of real war between the clans as one of them has their territory threatened. Meanwhile, there are flashes to a mysterious race of cats that used a warren of underground tunnels, created by an underground river, for training purposes.

Jaypaw's abilities as a medicine cat develop further, and both Hollypaw and Lionpaw must try to find a balance between the Warrior Code and wanting to be friends with cats from other Clans. With all of this going on, they don't have nearly as much time to complain about everything as they did in the first book, which was the main thing that made that the weaker of the two.

And, finally, some answers as to what's going on with Cinderpaw, since there were plenty of hints in the first book.
