I love these books, but they feel as though they keep getting shorter and shorter. Time jumps around a bit too... Maybe Lynsay Sands is secretly getting tired of writing this series? I wouldn't mind if it came to an end if she had another project/series she wanted to work on.

Another great read in the Argeneau series.
Brief Summary:
Jet has been thinking about Quinn since the first time he saw her 4 years ago, however Quinn doesn't remember the interaction. At the time Quinn was recently turned and was more angry that she had been turned against her will to worry about who was flying the plane. Now, after the plane taking her back to Canada crashes in the mountains, Quinn finds herself having to protect the mortal pilot from the immortals that are now gravely injured and searching for the only source of blood, Jet. Though dangerous, the hungry immortals are the least of their worries when it is discovered that the crash wasn't an accident and someone is trying to kill Quinn. Will she and Jet find their happily ever after as life mates before the assassin finds her?
Review:
Loved this book!
One thing that I find that Lynsay Sands does really well with this long-running series is that events that seem minor in earlier books come back later as more important. Quinn's sister, Pet, had her own book earlier on and mentioned the immortals that killed her parents in front of her and Quinn as her motivation moving forward. That same event comes back again this time, but explains why they were spared the same fate. I had almost forgotten about that back story until they mentioned it again. Really well written.
I also have to say that Lucian is still one of my favorite characters in any of the books I read. It just makes me smile when he's in a scene because that always means something interesting is going to happen.
I also like that Quinn is working through her issues about turning into an immortal. She was upset about it most of the book because it meant that she had to give up her career that she had built, but I enjoyed watching as other characters pointed out that while she lost that career, she still had her son, who was also turned, and her sister, who turned to stay with her life mate. Overall, I felt it was well done.
The only issue I had was it was too short, meaning that when the bad guys finally show up that there isn't a lot of the book left so things go rather quickly. It is my one and only complaint about this story that is otherwise a lot of fun.
While I can wait until the next book comes out, I am excited to see what the story will be.

I have never read an Argeneau Vampire I didn't like. Mile High with a Vampire did not disappoint. It was an exciting ride. Danger makes for a thrilling story. A buried past creates a suspenseful story. Plane crashes and fleeing for your life create a sit on the edge of your seat adventure. A female vampire having to protect a male mortal creates a roll reversal that will have feminists cheering her them on.
Quinn is not a happy vampire. She did not want this. She did not choose this. She was bitter. She refused to learn how to succeed as a vampire. Four years later she has realized this won't do. She has a child to raise and hiding in a cottage away from everyone was not living.
Jet has been piloting for Argeneau Enterprise for years. The flight with Quinn as a passenger will be one he never forgets. It will be an adventure in survival after a crash landing. Quinn is his only chance for survival when most of the other passengers have been seriously injured and their blood supply is soaking into the carpet.
So many secrets are exposed during Jet and Quinn non-romance romance. He has known that they are life mates. She has hid in her cottage clueless. Someone is after her bringing back memories she hid in a closet many years ago. She must learn to stand on her own two feet. She must learn to trust others. She must learn to live. Jet is just the man to lead the way.

I rarely read blurbs in series I love - to add more mystery to what will happen and who characters will be. I am extremely happy to have Jet's story and Quinn's story. I wouldn't have thought to pair them but this is perfect. I also love this series' emphasis on getting therapy to help process traumatic experiences.

It amazes me that 30+ books in to the Argeneau series and there's still fresh storylines to explore. Mile High with a Vampire is the first time we see someone who has been turned that is rejecting life as a vampire and is not happy with the choice that was made. It also features two characters we first met in previous books so not the best place to jump in if you're new the series. (Although book 29 where Quinn is first introduced is a good place to start if you don't want to go back to the beginning.) This book is definitely among the more action packed in the series and we get to see several previously introduced characters, which is a treat for someone like me who has read the entire series.

4.25 stars. Loved this one from beginning to end as Sands delved into her characters pasts and let them really get to know one another before they found their hearts truly lost.
Dying for the next one.

I enjoyed this book. I love the series. However, it wasn't one of the best in the series. I was disappointed in some places and ecstatic in others. I feel as if maybe the author is looking for a bit of distance from this series.

I LOVED THIS STORY! In this installment our heroine Quinn Peters was forcefully turned by her ex four years earlier. Despite being brilliant Quinn did not take this well at all and has been hiding from all things immortal since. When the plane she and other immortals are flying in goes down it is up to her to save the human pilot from bloodthirsty injured immortals. The human pilot knows more about being an immortal than Quinn does. Watching Quinn and Jet learn about each other and the world they live in was sweet and exciting and oh so fun. I loved that Quinn wasn’t perfect and was reaching out for help.
