Loved it! Fossils, women in science, and murder.

I think it’s impossible for me not to like a Veronica Speedwell book! But I will say, I spent most of this book wishing for more interaction between her and Stoker! I don’t like it when they’re at odds, especially when I waited so long for them to get together! But this was a fun book, and I was a little surprised by who the culprit turned out to be!

I love these characters! Next one, please!

The very definition of an easy, funny, romantic mystery that needs little to no brain power. I've loved the Veronica Speedwell mysteries since they came out (and the [b:Silent in the Grave|267869|Silent in the Grave (Lady Julia Grey, #1)|Deanna Raybourn|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1483424891l/267869._SX50_.jpg|259684] series before), but this is, by far, the most farcical of the series. The flirting is abundant, the hijinks border on ridiculous, and Veronica is at her thirstiest. It's like different personalities have taken over the characters, making them caricaturish versions of themselves. But I swanned through this in a day, and enjoyed it immensely. I won't remember much, but it was highly enjoyable and very entertaining. 3.5 stars.

Thanks to NetGalley for an ARC of this in exchange for an honest review

It's no secret that I ADORE the Veronica Speedwell series. Of course I had zero chill when I was granted access. Thank you to @berkleypub and @netgalley for the free review copy. (PUB 03.07)

Veronica Speedwell is back! The last few installments in Veronica and Stoker's adventures left me feeling unsatisfied and a little let down. After finishing A Sinister Revenge, I was pleased to find that I was once again enthralled and impatient for the next book to come out. Veronica could have stood just a bit more character growth, but I think she is headed in the right direction and I am very hopeful for the continued strengthening and blossoming of her relationship with Stoker. As always, Tiberius is wonderful and I am eager to see more of Merryweather.

Veronica was very unlikeable for most of this book. I hope she’s less of a selfish twat in the next one.

3.5 stars for another witty adventure. Thank you Ms. Rayburn.
