Gary is an amazing narrator and it is always so good to listen to his narrations. Together with Hailey's stories, you don't just listen to the story, you get to experience it, to live it. Emotions, expressions and action, everything comes through.

When it comes to the story you get fast paced action, plentiful chemistry between Takoma and Spencer, touch him and see what happens goodness, cameos from some of our favourite characters and of course just a bit of angst to top it all of.

Takoma and Spencer's story ends in strong HFN and I'm having my fingers crossed that when we get Wade's story it'll be a bit further along in the future and see how things are for everyone, what with a certain auction and a certain artifact, Takoma had his eye on for Spencer.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Uggh my heart. I want to see more of Spencer and Tacoma and watch their love flourish.

I almost lost it thinking we were going to lose not only Tacoma but Spencer also. I almost chucked my phone and AirPods across the room when Fatima told Spencer it was ok and to rest. I would have been livid, Spencer deserves better than that and it would destroy Patrick and the Hellraisers, not to mention Wade and Fatima. Spencer deserves love and I love how he and Tacoma are together.

From the moment I heard Spencer was getting a spin-off in RESURRECTION REPRISE I was super excited and this did not let me down. I love the SPELLBOUND world and it was great to see how everything has changed (or not changed) since the end of the previous series. Spencer made a great lead and I really enjoyed learning more about his unique powers and seeing how he navigates the world. Fatmia was also a delight and their love for each other was so evident -- even when Fatmia was abandoning Spencer to get pets from Wade instead.

Spencer was a bit laid back, a hard worker, and hopelessly controlled by his attraction to dangerous men. I loved seeing him with Takoma and I especially loved how Takoma wanted to be a safe space for Spencer. He appreciated him, protected him, and made sure he knew he had a way out from the government which would use Spencer's powers up until he was no longer useful. Takoma might be a deadly and dangerous vampire but he wasn't quite as unhinged as Lucien (for which I'm grateful) and it was obvious how much he cared for his Night Court and all those he considered his. I loved watching Spencer slowly become a part of that group.

In addition to our main couple, it was great to see a little bit of Patrick again and to see how settled he's become with his god pack. We also got lots of Wade and it was nice to see how he's grown up a bit and gotten comfortable in his own skin and gained some confidence. Overall, this was an excellent follow up to the SPELLBOUND series.

Favorite Quotes:

“I don’t like people touching what’s mine.” Takoma’s thumb rested against Spencer’s bottom lip, and it took everything in him not to lick it.

“You think I’m yours?”

Spencer’s head was pushed up, back, baring his throat. “You’re here, aren’t you?”

The flash of fury had Spencer going still, the hair on the back of his neck standing on end, reminding him that for all the kindness Takoma had shown him recently, the master vampire was still a predator.

He really shouldn’t have been turned on by that.

- - - - -

“Did you think I wouldn’t defend you?”

“Your government would rather see me truly dead.”

Spencer licked his lips, voice cracking slightly when he spoke. “I’m not the government. Not here, in your home. In your heart.”

I wish that this was a multi-book series. The relationship with Takoma should have been drawn out a little more, especially given the fact that it's a ticking time bomb. Spencer's position in the government worse than Patrick's, as biases were the only thing he had to worry about - Spencer's had the Sword of Damocles hanging over his head since he was 4. Not enough attention was paid to how much that would fuck up someone.

So frigging good

Okay that's a hfn of epic propositions if I've ever read one. Truly masterful to go along perfectly with the rest of the spellbound series that I can say for certain is a series I will not soon forget.
As seen in the Speelbound series Spencer and Takomas chemistry is undeniable, with Spencer transferring to the SOA and the Washington office, the two no longer can fight their draw for another. Pure action from start to finish! And let's hipe Hailey decides to grace us with more from this amazing universe!

I really loved Takoma and Spencer but was disappointed with the lack of emotional development, which would have been fine if this was their first book but considering the next book is about Wade I don't know that we will get much more from them.

I've been anxiously awaiting this book since it was announced in the author's newsletter. Sometimes when that happens, the hype exceeds the reality of the book. That was not the case. This story was everything I wanted and more.
Spencer was a fascinating character in the main Soulbound series and I desperately wanted more of him. His snark is a thing of beauty and plays off Fatima's own dry humor. The only way they could be improved would be to make them real and let them be my very best friends. I admire the way Spencer moves through his life. The unfairness of how the government views his magic has clearly taken its toll, but he's still vibrant and cares deeply for better where it could have made him cold and jaded.
Takoma was a delight to get to know as well. His loyalty to his people is paramount to his character and exceedingly admirable. That he's everything you could want a master vampire to be and deliciously seductive didn't hurt, either.
The plot kept me turning pages, as did the progression of the romance. I could honestly read an entire series about Spencer if given the opportunity and the way magic is described in this book? Perfection.
I won't spoil it, but there's an appearance of a character that made me cackle out loud and honestly, I'd read a series based on them as well.
