Superhero family moves into suburban neighbourhood and attempt to fit in, with less than hilarious consequences.

Perhaps the greatest vehicle yet for my love of stories starring robots with emotions

I always forget how horrible of a "person" Vision is in the comics because the movies made him so lovable and like-able.

Yoo this was fucking SICK. When I heard this was somewhat what the show Wandavision was inspired from I got... the wrong idea? I love that show with my entire ass so I wanted more of that, not the Vision household taking turns creeping me out. Wandavision is obviously so different from this like the vibes do not match besides oh Vision has special family and goes to live in suburbs. I'm kind of bummed it wasn't what I thought it would be but I did end up loving this.
The overall vibe of this is CREEPY. Vision is creepy. His wife is creepy. His children are the damn creepy twins from The Shining. They all look so creepy and talk so weird and then they just go off killing people. Even the android dog is creepy okay the whole thing was just uncomfy vibes!!! Feels like I'm gonna wake up in the middle of the night and Mrs Vision going to be standing at the foot of my bed ready to shank me, damn.
I only know Vision from the MCU and this one is so different I'm terrified. Maybe it was the art or the bizarre ass way he talked but he reminded me SO much of Dr Manhattan from Watchmen??? 1 v 1 when.
This story moves slowly but the things that happen are so wild. I'm so invested but also slightly disturbed.

I would have appreciated a trigger warning for the animal death but the story was superb.

I wasn’t thrilled with this interpretation of Vision. I much prefer his cinematic arc, as I also feel it was more human.
This was a very dark view of what he could become, which could arguably also be extremely human, I simply didn’t like seeing a character I like put in this light.
I wasn’t impressed and I don’t really have an interest in finding out how this arc ends in the second volume.

Superhero characters become the vehicle for a philosophical treatise on what it means to be human and how we treat those different to us and the nature of consciousness. This is the best 'mainstream' comic that I've read in a long while.

This was not what I was expecting at all.
All I know about The Vision prior to reading this was in Avengers: Age of Ultron and Captain America: Civil War. This takes place in the main Marvel universe where The Vision has created a family for himself, and moved them to D.C. suburbia to experience a nice, normal life. Except when synthezoids and supervillains are involved, "normal" takes on a whole new meaning.
This book delves into the meaning of humanity, what we treasure and why, and the facades that hide so much of peoples' true feelings and motives in our everyday lives. I enjoyed the juxtaposition of Vision at work with his family trying to fit in with suburban life. The children at school were a mix of familiar, touching, and frightening as they hit points where they are shown to be not normal.
I read this since it was nominated for a Hugo, but I may have to seek out the next volume to see what happens next for this family.
