Just not into student teacher thing. Love Tessa Bailey though

I would say that the first half of this book is good. I read through it pretty quickly, it’s nicely paced, got some good steam to it.

However. Once Ben gets into his head about her trying to somehow entrap him, it goes downhill. The man messed up repeatedly, and Honey just continued to go back to him.

The age difference is not horrible, but honestly I was a completely different person at 19 versus 25. Like my values changed, what I want in life, you know, big things like that. I don’t want to say it, but it felt like she was influenced by a man in “power”. He had some authority over her and it clouded her judgement. Like… he got her KICKED OUT of college and she’s still with him in the end.

Also, I mentioned this previously, but the Southern accent out of nowhere punched me in the face. In a bad way lol. I’m team Elmer

This TB book was extra spicy

I had such high hopes (the little cartoon guy on the cover was cute)! An English professor are you KIDDING!??!? I was so in!! Things started to fall apart when I realized it was an undergrad and professor kind of deal... felt icky that she was 19 and he was 25!! Also not to be a hater but I did not like the MC's name being Honey.
Ok, but my real beef with this book is that I couldn't root for either character! Like Honey compromised Ben by hooking up with him when she knew he was her professor but he didn't know she was his student. I feel like they move on from that way too easily. Ben sucks because he is weirdly possessive of Honey when another student seems interested in her. And I get that this is kind of the appeal of the book, but they are both way too obsessed with hooking up that the big love confession at the end doesn't feel remotely real. The whole book is just a manifestation of their infatuation.

AND THE BASEBALL FIELD AT THE END... what !? Like what an insane gesture!? I get Ben didn't know how to spend the money his dad left him but like buying a baseball field for a 19-year-old who you got kicked out of college is CRAZY.

Anyway, did not like this book but had a good time reading it so dub for me I guess.
