It was lovely to visit the tiny island of Mure again - this time for Flora and Joel's wedding. I thought it might be the last in the Mure series, but Colgan leaves us with a bit of a cliffhanger, so I'm hoping there will be more.
The first 60% or so dragged a bit but then the plot kicked in and I was swept away in the sweet and bittersweet storyline. I'm a bit worried about Agot (since I always listen to the books I think of her as Agate) - she's gone from a tiny-but-funny tyrant to a self-centered mean girl. I'm hoping that in the next book (please write another!) that she's a bit more balanced. But still funny.

I didn't realise this was part of a series (let alone book FIVE) until I was reading the introduction so my opinion may be skewed.
The setting for this series - a remote Scottish island - resonated with me in several places, but that's where my love for this book ends. The plot with Saif made me want to keep reading but a lot of the characters are really unlikeable. I see no reason to enjoy the FMC's love interest. His backstory sounds interesting but he's very grating if this is your first time meeting him. From this book alone, they should not be together lol.
Don't read this as your introduction to the series, the characters will not be painted in a favourable light (I will still 1v1 someone for Saif though)

There are a lot of different characters, although the author wrote an introduction to present everyone, it still took me a while the get to know them all.
Flora the main character in this episode lacked backbone in the beginning. She tries to please everyone, puts her own needs aside.
The side story with Lorna and Saif really captured me, and when Flora finally spoke up for herself, I couldn’t put the book down. A cosy romance on an idyllic scottish island.
